Through the Web Design assignment, I have learned a lot about what website making software programs, like Wix, have to offer. I liked that Wix had a ton of different color schemes and themes to choose from to create the atmosphere I wanted for my website. I also liked that it was easy to switch between pages when editing the website. One thing I didn't like about the project was the difficulty of editing the website layout. In the end, although some aspects were frustrating, Wix helped me create a fun and professional looking website. I can definitely see myself using Wix to create a website for my preschool, although, I am not thrilled about having to pay a fee for its full services and Wix can be a bit laggy.     I had never heard of the program, Diigo, before this class. I don't use it frequently, but there are a few aspects that I like. I like that it can be added as a tool on google for easy use. I also like that you don't have to be on the website to highlight and sticky note passages. I think it is useful for saving certain parts of an article you want to reread in the future. I also like that it can be collaborative and you can add comments. I can see me using Diigo in a middle or high school classroom and also among coworkers on a research topic related to our career.

I have never considered myself tech savvy, but I don't think you have to be "good" at technology to use it in meaningful ways. As a teacher, it is our responsibility to ensure students go into the world prepared, one of the skills students need to be aware of is the uses of technology. We can stay aware of changing technology by staying on social media and following accounts that specifically post educational tech content. We can also subscribe to a blog that posts fun ways for teachers to implement technology into the classroom. HiMama is one blogger who I like that posts a wide range of educational content but also posts about technology in the classroom. https://blog.himama.com/technology-in-preschool-classrooms. Another blogger, who specifically posts edtech related content is "Free Technology for Teachers". Byrne not only provides tech resources but also updates teachers on new features those resources add. https://www.freetech4teachers.com/

  1. Hey Cat! I love your website and your choice of using WIX!. I personally loved the scrolling method you chose which made your site very user friendly. Your contrast, repetition and alignment made everything eye-catching and flow really well.
